Children's Lessons

mobile_appsChildren are treated respectfully and have curriculums designed to the individual child's learning style. Children naturally are quick learners! Their needs are met with a multi-faceted curriculum designed to hold their attention and help them grow in their learning. The very young beginner also has a unique curriculum and goals are designed in mind with their learning styles.

Beginner’s lessons are 45 minutes: 30 minutes private instruction and 15 minutes on computer study which is an intensive study involving note reading and basic ear training. The technology I use is in a fun, easy-to-accomplish format. Basic theory concepts are taught using a current competent text.

Intermediate and advanced lessons are 45 minutes. This includes some technology but mainly technique, theory, method books, if applicable, and literature appropriate to the student’s age and ability. This is usually primarily classical literature.

Adult Lessons

mobile_appsMickey Music Studio meets the unique needs of adults learning to play the piano. Lessons are taught in a comfortable, carefully constructed setting. Curriculum is specifically designed for each individual. Lessons are personal and personable. While the learning needs of adult students differ from children, in the past there have been many adults who have studied and continue to study successfully!

Adult’s lessons are 45 minutes long and involve theory appropriate to the level of the student, wonderful, creative method books and pieces adapted to both the beginning student and the more experienced student.

Piano Recitals

mobile_appsMickey Music Studio is very happy and proud to present two annual recitals featuring beginners, intermediate and advanced students! Recitals are opportunities to help a well prepared student perform for friends and family. My recitals are comfortable and enjoyable. Recitals give a piano student motivation to continue study and gives each performer a sense of accomplishment, poise and confidence.

Why do I hold recitals?

The most important reason for having two annual recitals is to provide each student with the opportunity to work towards the goal of performing at least one piece really well. Without exception and regardless of age, students rise to the occasion. They practice more, focus better and put forth the extra effort to make sure that their piano recital performance is the best it can be.

Students also get two additional important benefits from recitals.

First, they get to hear other students (especially the more advanced ones) who provide the inspiration for them to keep practicing. They then have a level of piano playing to which they can aspire.

Second, they involve their family members in the process of preparing for and performing at their recital. As a result, they often receive encouragement and support from those closest to them. This can have a huge impact on their motivation and ultimate success!

Enhancement of Music Education

Mickey Music Studio uses technology in my studio to enhance music education. That is a computer with music study, note reading, ear training and rhythm study. Mickey Music Studio has had in the past and in the present great success with those tools as an aid to my teaching. Mickey Music Studio designs lessons around each student's particular learning skills so the student can reach their full potential.
